In the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City something special happened. Over Memorial Day weekend, Guillermina Garcia gave birth to five babies. Two baby boys and three baby girls, Fernando, Jordan Esmeralda, Fatima and Marissa.

Prior to the birth process, mom’s giant belly was covered in bruises. This bruising is caused by broken blood vessels under the skin, which was worsened by the pressure on Ms. Garcia’s abdomen.

Her pregnancy wasn’t easy and the chances of something going wrong have been just too high. She agreed for the babies to stay in the womb for 7 weeks longer than most other quintuplets. For the mother to make sure, her babies were all healthy, even if she endangered her health.
