5 Exercises With Cushions to Tone The Buttocks and Abdomen and Slim The Waist

Most of us are living a sedentary lifestyle where you’re spending most of our time in an office sitting for hours in front of a computer. This habit has a negative impact on our health, both cardiovascular and joint.

Physical activity is as important to achieving a lean body and toned muscles as a diet.

Fortunately, there are specific exercises that do not require attendance at a gym or the use of complex equipment to perform them: all you need is a cushion.

Below we list 5 specific exercises that can be done with a cushion (or, failing that, a pillow) and that are especially useful for toning both the buttocks and the abdomen.

Exercise 1

  • Lie on your stomach with your legs bent and your feet flat on the floor.
  • Place a cushion between the legs, at the height of the ribs.
  • Press your legs in, inhale and exhale while contracting your abdominal muscles.
  • Perform the exercise for 60 seconds.

Exercise 2

  • Start in the same position as the previous exercise, with your legs bent and your feet on the ground.
  • Raise your hips, pushing up with your arms, while squeezing your abdominal muscles.
  • Perform the exercise for 60 seconds.

Exercise 3

  • Lie on the floor, with your legs bent and your feet and back resting on the floor.
  • Place a cushion between your legs and using your abs, lift your legs as high as possible and lower them back down.
  • Do 20 repetitions.

Exercise 4

  • From a standing position, with your feet slightly apart, grasp a pillow with both hands.
  • Jump up and raise your arms above your head, thus also raising the cushion.
  • Perform 5 sets of 20 reps each.

Exercise 5

  • Kneel with the cushion in front of you and place the palms of your hands on it.
  • Pull your right knee back, as if you’re going to kick it toward the ceiling.
  • Repeat 20 times with each leg.
