Here’s Why You Shouldn’t Throw Away Watermelon Seeds

It will soon be watermelon season so here’s why you should also eat the seeds of this fruit. Many people throw away watermelon seeds when they eat the fruit, but they shouldn’t do this. Watermelon seeds are healthy, even though you’ll agree they aren’t as tasty as watermelon. Still, nutritionists suggest that the seeds should be eaten with this fruit because they are rich in protein, vitamin B, magnesium. These seeds reduce the levels of bad cholesterol, the risk of inflammation and heart disease.

Seeds of various fruits are generally good for health, but watermelon seeds are a star among other seeds because of all the nutrients they contain, say experts.

Experts also advise that it is best to eat the seeds when the watermelon is sprouting because the protein is at its richest. If you eat seeds in a container of 0.2 dl, you will consume 10gr of protein.

To use the natural healing properties of the seeds it’s important to boil, crush or bake them in order to extract the precious contents. They contain fibres that are essential for the normal function of the intestines; they help in reducing intestinal parasites, as well as the treatment of jaundice, and inflammation in the body.

Drink it for two days and take a break on the third day.
