Here’s Why You Shouldn’t Drink Coffee At +39 Degrees

Everyone is happy when the weather is sunny, especially those who have the opportunity to go to their favourite café during the day. However, in such tropical heat it’s not a good idea to do this.

Although at first glance it might seem like coffee is the perfect solution to cool down, this isn’t the case.


The problem is that coffee (just like black tea) contains a lot of caffeine, a substance that raises blood pressure, accelerates the heart rate and can even cause the heart to skip beats. Unfortunately, raised blood pressure is only temporary, and after this effect stops, it can get worse. We’re sure that you don’t want to feel worse or experience a heart attack or stroke.


Caffeine is also a strong diuretic, which means that it stimulates rapid excretion of fluid from the body, whether its sweat, or going to the toilet frequently, which leads to dehydration. The problem with this is that along with these fluids there are other fluids like precious minerals such as salt, iron, magnesium and calcium that also leave the body.


Another bad thing, for those who have the chance to sunbathe and want to get tanned quicker, is that because of dehydration coffee dries the skin and leads to faster growth of pores.


Coffee and heat aren’t a good combination when it comes to the psyche because coffee increases the secretion of stress hormones; adrenaline and cortisol, which in suffocation city traffic without air conditioning, can only increase the symptoms, leading to lowered blood pressure.


The summer days are longer and during the hot nights we sleep less, which means drinking coffee keeps us awake and is the enemy of a good night’s sleep.


It’s especially dangerous if you drink cold coffee with sugar and milk. It’s not only a calorific bomb that fattens, but it also affects your health. Besides raising blood pressure, you can never be sure of the quality of the milk, which can leave you feeling sick for days.


If you are addicted to that extent, drink only one coffee during the day, black without sugar or milk – and never on an empty stomach. Although it doesn’t sound good, experts recommend drinking hot coffee! Hot drinks and soups, even in the worst heat can actually stimulate thermoregulation and help us feel chilled.
