Doctors Name Monsanto’s Larvicide As Cause of Brazilian Microcephaly Outbreak

There’s an increase in the birth defect called microcephaly in newborn babies and the Argentine doctors’ organization and some physicians claim it’s because of the Zika virus epidemic in Brazil.

Newborns that have this birth defect suffer from an abnormally small head, and most of them have damaged brains. The Brazilian Ministry of Health quickly reported that this defect is linked with the Zika virus. However, the Physicians in the Crop-Sprayed Towns say that the Brazilian Ministry of Health didn’t see another reason why this birth defect might increase. Namely, this defect is most common in places where chemical larvicide are produced. Malformations in mosquitoes and put into the drinking water supply 3 years ago. It’s called Pyriproxyfen and its main purpose is to eliminate the mosquitoes which carried the disease.

This chemical larvicide is produced by the Sumitomo Chemical, which is a Japanese partner of Monsanto.

It causes malformations in mosquitoes, either disabling or eliminating them. Actually, it prevents them from developing wings or developing their reproductive systems. The Physicians claim it causes birth defects. They said, “Malformations detected in thousands of children from pregnant women living in areas where the Brazilian state added Pyriproxyfen to drinking water are not a coincidence, even though the Ministry of Health places a direct blame on the Zika virus for this damage.”

Also, it’s has been proven that Zika doesn’t cause any birth defects. Even in places where 75% of the population is affected by it.

So, the Physicians point their fingers at the Larvicide as the culprit of this disease. The larvacide itself is still new for the Brazilian environment, so it’s very probable that it’s the main cause behind the birth defects, even though companies have blaimed the Zika epidemic for them. Also, statistics say that only 4.2% of the newborn babies had the Zika virus, so it’s probably not the main cause.

Furthermore, the Brazilian doctors’ and publich health researchers’ organization, Abrasco, also think the first suspect for microcephaly is Pyriproxyfen. Not only is it not effective in eliminating the mosquitoes, it also possesses a huge threat to the people’s health as well. Also, Abrasco suspects that this is done intentionally by the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, since it’s very integrated in the Latin American Ministries of Health.
